Meet-the-parents in the morning. I find whatever that was said over the mic, well.. kinda inspirational yet also it's mostly common sense. Melvin gave a good speech though. I felt motivated, for about 60 seconds. All that was said can be easily absorbed, but it's more difficult to put it into actions.
My parents came, in the end. My mama is the coolest mom (yea it sounds lame). Her gung-ho attitude for my "socks issue" is haha, funny. She talked to Mrs Lim you see, about me & my ankle socks.
Mama: May I know the rationale behind the no-ankle-socks rule?
Mrs Lim: We are afraid the socks may get lower & lower till the students to do not wear socks.. & that becomes a health issue. It's unhygienic.
Mama: Ahh, so why can't the school make the rule be.. no no wearing of socks?
Mrs Lim: Um, I'm in no position to comment. Mrs Poh is there. (She points)
My mama heads straight for Mrs Poh. I love it when my mama defends her daughter, me. Hahahaha, take that man. Serves 'em right for taking my socks.
Mama: (told Mrs Poh everything) Aren't my daughter's socks (points at my socks) acceptable?
Mrs Poh: um only the left one.
Mama: I don't see why you can't let them wear ankle socks. It's sorta the trend for the younger generation, I don't know why. I can't just tell my girl (me) to wear high socks or force her to. That will be isolating her from her friends, its' peer pressure. & the school could change the rule to be just no no wearing of socks, as long as it can be seen.. why not?
I can't really remember the rest. All I remember is Mrs Poh's expression & she saying something about taking my mom's opinion into consideration or something. My mama is zeeee best :D If this is successful, no one can touch my socks ever again. Mrs Poh herself said one side of mine is acceptable.
Anyway.
Flag Day was fun. Eloped with Fongy & Evonna (: But kinda guilt-ridden about the quite-empty tin. Gosh, I'm a bad person. Zhiyan's tin was full, to the brim okay. It was freaking heavy. & I feel pathetic, o well. Tania the apple said she'll come tong for me, but she didn't :( Jiaxin baby said she wanted to, but couldn't. It's okay baby (:
I hate seafood. Except salmon & clams & cordfish. How random.
